Poem Artwork

For most kids-
Their blackboard
Was their sidewalk
When I was growing up.

We would draw
And doodle
Write who we loved
Or better yet who we hated

Kids were kids-
We pretty much
Got along
Boys and girls

We always played
Hopscotch
Only had white chalk
Skyblue...

Yes and a lot of times where I lived there weren't even sidewalks so we parked on the pavement and chalk was usually pieces of old gypsum board used in housing projects.
