My mother had a hard
Life...too much strife-
Born in 1919, Danville,Illinois
...ten years
Before the "Great Depression,"
1929...
She was one of "nine" children
One of her sibling's died young,
Scarlet fever-
My mother never told
Any of my sisters and I, she
Loved us when we were young...
How can a mother with nine
Children have time
For individuality in those days
I can't remember my Grand Parents
I was three when they died,
Same on my father's side-
My mother had a hard
Life...too much strife-
Her mother had her clean
Other people's houses...
Needing the money-
She ended up living
With her Aunt Mabel...
Age eleven,
In Calumet City, Illinois
My mother carried anger
All of her life, I acknowledge
Why...She had to have felt
Abandoned and unloved-
She passed away in 2001,
Three of us were there
By her bedside...
Based on your poem, your mother's hard life has also shaped yours. But somehow, those that survive such harsh treatment tend to come out stronger.
My father was born in 1920 and had a hard time during the Great Depression as well. My mother was born in 1925 and still calls me on Mondays at 91. She worked hard at menial jobs until retirement. I knew all of my grandparents until I was in and after college. I even knew my great-grandparents and several great aunts and uncles. I'm so sorry that you missed out on the wisdom these elderly people can instill in young minds.
In many ways our lives were the same. The words, "I love you." were never heard in our household as each and every one of us were too busy doing what we had to do. Anyhow, I love you!!
A wicked Cajun Fairy named Robes Pierre entered the impenetrable Magical doll land of Sha Bebe. Queen Faustina, the ruler of the doll land, thought she had destroyed him, but he's back! Will the doll land survive his evil ways?
