No Longer Do I Dream

Wrote this one after a big breakup.

A time one was, that I did dream.

My foolish heart, unknowingly, swept

me away.  I became lost

within his eyes, the shadowy orbs

so full of secrets.  If ever I loved,

he was the one.  But dreams do crumble

under reality.  Hearts

are broken; pieces lie scattered about.

Thoughts come in fragments as each delicate

crystalline tear falls silently

into oblivion.  And soon no

tears are left, leaving anger

and contempt.  He is to blame

for all the pain, for all that's gone.

Words lie dead, nothing is left

to say, to weep for.  All is lost,

yet no more pain have I to hide,

and no longer do I dream.

Hi Christie, thank you for sharing this poem.Being in love can be the greatest thing in the world to have and experienced. Also love can break a person's heart in millions and millions of ways.I hope that one day you will find someone special who will love you for who you are as a person and I know that you will move on and be a much stronger person.Like the old saying goes, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.Continue to always be who you are and to enjoy your life to the fulliest with strength, dignity, grace and pride.take care of yourself and I enjoy reading your poem.
