Saturday means fund-raising.
They bend to make change,
Take turns at rearranging fudge.
Antique car show gearing up
Outside the K-Mart window.
By noon, all the empty places
In the lobby will fill up with smokers
Indifferent to sweets. A last
Mini-cheesecake is sold. Cheerleaders
And their mothers reach for quarters.
The high school drama team makes
Quota and a man has
Lost his wife in lawn and garden.
