In my imagination I see Scottish angels like I describe here.

Poem Artwork

Angels usually come in dresses of white with wings

But a Scottish angel is so different

She has none of these things

She wears a kilt with a badge and plays the Celtic harp

Walking atop the clouds playing music to

Cheer your heart

.

T’was when the twilight met the moon

I saw one on the hills far away

Never did I realize

That she had come for me that day

.

She spoke in Gaelic so very softly

I nae almost did not hear

I looked around from side to side

To see if someone was near

.

She smiled at me and said, “No lass, tis you I come for today.”

“Tis time for you to come to heaven

And join this band and play.”

.

I picked up my flute and gathered it in my hand

She said, “Come with me my lassie,

Let me show you were to stand.”

.

.we walked the moors in the morning light

And watched the heather sway

I looked all around and tried to memorize it all

Cause I would not see it after today

.

She read my mind and smiled and said,

“Lassie you will see so much more.”

“Once you come away with me

And I take you through heaven’s door.”

.

I saw myself lying on the heather

Smelling its sweet fragrance

My heart inside of me started to do a Celtic dance

.

They found me lying on the ground

My eyes closed and a smile on my face

No more worries would I have

My soul was full of Gods’ grace

.

I live in the highlands of heaven

With my Scottish angel as my best friend

I no longer think of them below

For God has taken me with His hand
