My disdain, dismissiveness and disregard are resultant from those I walk amongst....

I  WALK AMONGST THEM

I can no longer dispute

Nor disguise my disdain

for those I walk amongst’

caricature of sane.

I no longer attempt

To hide disregard

As every single idiot

Truly hoists my petard

My only perceived

Method of coping

is to dumb down to herd level

And embrace legal doping.

I remain flummoxed

The clueless persist

And I remain suspect

That an anti-me plot exists

With great effort I seek

Reason to suspend

My complete disregard

With the clueless I contend.

Allow me to further pontificate……

They are the mooing, bleating masses,

lacking independent thought,

zero self-awareness,

claimed victimization,

reliance on social media

for “own?” opinions

and perception of self-worth.

And somehow, despite all evidence to the contrary,

presume they bear no fault,

nor responsibility

for their own actions and misdeeds

as they were bullied

and never handed an opportunity

that others fought for themselves.

Or perhaps their parents failed to provide

all they expected they deserved?

Maybe they were the last playground pick

or weren’t coddled enough

and choose to blame the world

for their lack of ambition and self-awareness?

In fact, they purposely ignore

their one remaining brain cell

screaming to stop being victimized

and to fight to realize their own potential.

I have no patience

for the general malaise,

the blamestorming,

the skin color deservedness

nor skin color haters.

All lives matter.

You idiots I walk amongst

can stop grandstanding

ethnicity, sexual preference and religious affiliation.

Why can’t we all just get along?

Is your life so shallow?

So hollow and without purpose

that your only recourse

Is to attempt to impose

your personal beliefs upon others?

For clarity, this is a message to the world.

Embrace the differences -

you don’t have to join them,

only respect them.

It doesn’t have to be a them or me mentality….

Why can’t it be an us?

Get over your sanctimoniousness

and past atrocities.

Those you know - right now- today

didn’t commit the historic atrocities

that are only kept alive with hate rhetoric.

They in fact agree wholeheartedly

that the travesties should never have occurred.

People unite.

Stop this self-created divide.

There is no cause for conflict,

except for that personally manifested

to perpetuate continued divisiveness

And to what end? What purpose?

It’s shameful.

Your pity party is just that -

Pathetic.

I’m done with societal political correctness.

Society today is unfortunately completely eradicating Darwinism

And perpetuating, in fact facilitating, the most loathsome, self-            aggrandizing, feeble minded, shallow individuals ever evolved.

For this I partially blame social media and those I walk amongst.

How about each of us

embrace self-responsibility,

acknowledge lack of motivation,

and discard the someone owes me mentality?

Dare I hope any can embrace their own potential,

put down the electronic devices,

personally engage,

challenge their brain,

advance their knowledge,

or expand their own potential through blood, sweat and tears

without expectation of anyone doing it for them

or that anyone owes them anything – ANYTHING?!

Tough love,

I’m sick of the excuses.

Our world will revert to chaos.

Or embrace Big Brother (look it up).

Or never understand Atlas Shrugged (once more – look it up).

Because very few actually think, dream or invent

beyond their own personal comfort advancement,

and what preposterous “reality shows” teach

or what “twitter” hashtags purport as truth.

Poor – pick yourself up (I was you).

Bullied – fight back (It wasn’t a social issue in the 50’s).

Last Picked – advance your skills.

Unattractive – advance another aspect of yourself.

Self – entitled – get over yourself – you got lucky and don’t deserve nor  are entitled to any more until you personally earn it.

Naysayers – pull your head out of the sand and take a gander at first  world society utopianism pursued across the planet.

That said – I walk amongst them.  Not as better, not as any more of anything – just one that possesses independent thought, self-awareness, self-motivation, self-responsibility and morality.

To Those I walk amongst – you truly sadden me with your lack of respect for self and others and your lack of responsibility for your actions and opinions.  Your inability to overcome your judgmental fault finding, manifestations of perceived slights where none exist and resultant blamestorming can only be attributed to an empty life devoid of individual purpose.  Live your own life – let others live theirs’ – and if the two collide?......Shocking thought here – be respectful – not violent.

Good Luck – I don’t expect any positive impact, rather an attack from the affronted using current BS purposeful lack of societal consciousness that will blame me for pulling back the curtain to expose the “wizards”.  And despite the feedback – which I will read with the appropriate disdain, disregard and dismissiveness, I expect to remain forever……as my sobriquet (look it up) defines….

“I walk amongst them”,

BEEDS

Find me disdainful, dismissive and disregarding?  - You are spot the f*ck on – but I’m mainly despairing.

I tend to agree with most of what you have written. Modern society allows most people the time and freedom to drift into meaningless activities that you observe all around you. It is certainly the tendency to take the easy route and not the hard.

It is my hypothesis that natural selection which created our superior intelligence ended about the time we created civilization and social Darwinism took over. Social Darwinism has reached a level of incompetence when populism runs the world rather than the best sense (not common sense, uncommon sense) that intellect can derive. Why we keep repeating history.

Good title. A lot of heart and guts in this piece. And I do relate to the content, on various levels, but mostly in the rear-view mirror. For many years I, too, stormed against what I despairingly felt I was forced to deal with. My idealisms were continually under assault. Atlas was permitted the opinion that he was at liberty - if he wished - to drop the Earth and creep away; but this opinion was all that he was permitted. Many I've known (including me) embrace a single absolute, for a season in their lives, that the world was theirs to shape in the image of their highest values and never to be given up to a lesser standard, no matter how long or hard the struggle. Ignorance, immaturity, and complete lack of respect seems to be some people's form of success in this devolving corrupt society. I've discovered (after many battles) that the most powerful weapon on Earth, for a human, is a mind that's completely focused on, and a soul that's on fire for, Truth and Love. Peace to you... r

Standing On My Knees by Pinkstone
