Wither

From darkened heart all love depart

Sparked on as anger teems

And sorrows grow with tearful flow

As scars bleed withered dreams

The ship once filled with hopes abound

Now sits ‘pon empty seas

And sails once fueled by winds of time

Drift now on hollow breeze

The sky be void of earthly light

Paint dark with ebon views

The stars and moon inked by the heart

That spirit’s tone imbues

Greet not the day with joyful rhyme

No pleasant dreams impart

Bring darkness from the edge of time

Beat not thy empty heart

Through arrow's quest pierce deep thy chest

As rose bleeds through it’s thorn

And honor stings from crimson rings

Of blood swept from the morn

Amazing imagery, Sherry. Especially liked, "The ship once filled with hopes abound Now sits ‘pon empty seas And sails once fueled by winds of time Drift now on hollow breeze" Whew. Feels like the end of marriage to me. Lisa
