A child's head rests against the the able
waiting for the comfort that he seeks
"I would help you, if I were able."
As tears run down the child's cheeks
He tells him from across the kitchen floor
The child begins to speak
His words echoes through the open door
This is from Terry Robertson's novel "Fill My Eyes". To read it on the site may not evoke much thought but it is perfectly written for the book. Robertson's compact, vivid style is to be applauded. He never bores. He can say more in a single line than some can in a full page. Bravo. A Fan.
