Sparkling sand pretends to be snow,
Surfboards try to be sleds
Soft breezes whisper in the air,
while we mulch our flower beds.
Bright, youthful oranges dangle
from arms of their mother tree
The grapefruit toasts its nectar
as the finest of chablis
Great herons feast as they did all summer
from ice-free ponds, where fishes skate.
Florida knows of the north in winter;
but it just cannot relate.
I sent you a note a bit ago, responding to your comments on my website. Hope you received it. Love your work, would love to hear from you. Thanks, your Florida neighbor, Dick
