Quandary
It's good we didn't meet in spring
when distinguishing between
budding of leaves and inner
resurrections would have
been impossible.
It's good we didn't meet in summer
when raging showers fell
making it hard to separate them
from desperate dropped kisses on skin.
It's good we didn't meet in dense
or dopplered autumn woods, their
dark scents subtly seducing us - but rather in deep dank winter
when yes, we kept each other warm
a simple logistical matter,
admitting no confusion.
Or, wait.
