Ah, sleep, ever elusive, and then if you help it along....

                           OVOID

Last night I dreamed up prisoners of war

their bodies inside some armament

only their heads poking out, a horror.

How to eat, sleep, scratch the nose?

And I was late, so very late, to deliver an

important speech.  It's been forever

since that recurring dream of deadlines.

It's the new new pills, which are ovoid

instead of round. They cajole prisoners

into being and are themselves my jailers

the only hope for even nightmares.

I look forward to downing them tonight;

day is so overfull of freedom's tedious carnage.

internal struggles are many and diverse -- ovoid happy tablets may deliver a night's worth of reality's escape -- the hue is, blue -- may peace and love walk with you this day -- JMW

Reminds me of Anne Sexton, in a way - reliance on an ovoid savior to face reality - effectively penned sadness, Julianza.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Yeppers, especially the unending war within self. Into every life, a little ovoid should come :-)

Julie,

Beautifully written. War is such a nightmare for everyone.
