Beginnings and endings and beginnings again ... and so the world goes 'round.

Solstice Trilogy

June 2002

I.

Summer

Wraps its legs

Around mine

Like an old lover,

Warm hands

     on my face,

Soft breath

      in my ear,

Singing siren songs

Of honeysuckle

      and thyme …

Pollen dreams.

Lies.

In the glitter of its teeth

       winter smiles.

II.

Midnight.

Endings

Beginnings.

Middles.

Todays,

       tomorrows,

             yesterdays.

Now.

Never.

III.

I would write out

my life for you,

if there were anything

to tell.

Memory

is a junkyard dog,

lying in the dark,

dreaming of blood.
