I went down and visited Hell today, I'm surprised that I got away. Satan cracked his whip, He set me to work, Meanwhile evil spirits lurked. I climbed and climbed and reached for life, The farther the step, the deeper the knife, I slid back down, I tried a different path, All the while feeling Lucifer's wrath. I finally escaped with barely a breath, I was sure that hell would be my death. Satan let me loose this time, I went down and visited Hell today. I'm surprised that I got away.

I tried a different path, ....I am glad you chose a different path and did not have to stay. This was an excellent write, and food for thought.
