uncontrolled manner - "Hello hydroplane,
we're here to slip and slide, sideways if
you please; in other words, we can't get
a grip on reality." So, I guess you could
say, "Our lives are passing before us, and
we're on the skids!" Please everyone, join
us in song -

the way on a rain soaked day:
Autos with cheap or balding tires will make
us their slaves..."
