Her Beauty; Her Touch; now the final poem of this trilogy . . .

  Two years passed by and we
were deeply in love - the sentiments
the desire and the emotions had
increased dramatically.

Each week I brought her one red
rose - she said it was a symbol of
what we meant to each other - and
no one could ever take that away.

Our romance had gone from when
our eyes first met, to holding hands
to making love in bed; and then I
proposed - 'Will you marry me? '

She was so happy she cried
then I put the diamond ring on
her finger - we set a June
wedding date.

The next morning when I awoke
I looked at the night stand and
saw her note - was sitting under
a red rose, along with her ring.

As I opened up the note, I began
to cry - my tears stained the ink
'My love, I can't explain, but I
had to leave - please forgive me.'

I never did get over her beauty
I never did get over her touch
'Now in solitude, a constant
vigil I will keep.'

You captured each stage of beginning and ending love in your trilogy...sometimes it ends, many times never ending. One would be so lucky

...a red rose will aways be a reminder of such a rich love..so sorry it ended on such a note...very beautiful sentiments.

Well displayed heighten emotions in your trilogy. This one is sad, yet profound. I wonder is it better to have love and lost, than not to have love at all? Tough question for the heart. Thanks for sharing this creative work with us.
