"one and one and one is three"

Poem Artwork

Here come old skulltop, grooving

up slowly, fixing his fancy silk tie

He got lifeless eyes; he one unholy

sight; he got no feeling from head

to toeless feet.

Got to be the sole-survivor of WW3

He just now do what he please; he

constantly wear gas mask for his

protection - lungs shot; he got

jammed up breathing.

He got protective suit; he shoot morphine

He say "i got side-affects, don't know me"

One thing i can tell you is it sets me free

This drug come together right over me

He soon be bagged for morgue production.

He got solo sideboard in bank cellar; he one

spinal craked when ceiling caved in; hold his

dead wife in his arms to feel her radiation

disease; he got early warning; he fingered

nuclear button.

He got contaminated water to drink; k rations

to eat; motionless dog companion - he say

"one and one and one is three;" can't look in

broken mirror "cause got to be good-looking

'cause he's so hard to see."

Mean Mr. Mustard got no sleep; he got

nightmare dreams; got no escape from

reality; he destined to live alone; he pay

for his mistake; he got guilt; still searches

around for anyone to forgive him . . .

You truly weave some powerful poems, my friend, and many of them are quite thought provoking. And what a graphic.

Mr. Mustard must meet my Mrs. Butters, her soul will heal him. Wonderful imaginative write Lance. You never cease to amaze me. Writing of an elementary school to this. Your range is so extensive that it's always such a joy to read your works. Love and hugs, Bonnie
