Life is Beautiful…Or is it?

We are born to live,
Understanding the fact
That death is above our head
Still we live with everything in our heart...

Rain comes and goes-
Storms come and brings thunder,
We step on thorns,
Still we live thinking of a future,
For me and my dear ones...

Our Heart cries with sadness,
And Smiles with Happiness...
At end of the day;
As we lay down to rest,
We pray for happiness for all
Who care and loves us

We wish goodness for others
Better lives for others...
Finding ourselves happy
When we see the smile,
On the face of those we love,
Is it not because;
"Life is Beautiful"?

Ah my love,
Although life is beautiful,
Living is so hard,
Those thorns pierce my heart,
And the blood drips making rude stains,
On my skin leaving thin scars,
That others try not to see…

Am I beautiful love?
Do you trace the scars on my skin,
With your fingertips,
Is my pain and grief beautiful?
Do my crystallized tears,
Resemble diamonds in your heart?

Life is an agony I endure,
With others of my kind,
And though I see beauty,
And write of it,
I cannot share it with my family…

They do not see beauty,
The see the barren truth,
Flayed skin covering a tattered soul,
They do not feel happiness,
Despair is cave in which they dwell,

Veiled truth behind the shadows in men’s eyes,
Lies naked before their stern gaze,
Beauty dies in their hands love,
How can I show them what I see,
If I don’t believe?

Is life beautiful?
I don’t know how to answer you,
Maybe once it was,
When I looked at it with a child’s eyes,
But now it is only a rust colored stain,
I can’t wash out…

Life is indeed beautiful, My Heart...
Sad, Sorrow, Tears and Darkness
You always talk about,
Are but a part of it…
Why not let happiness,
Stand as one among them...

You asked about the scars
Made by the thorns in life...
Sometimes it’s the remembrance of past...
May be for good or bad...
You asked me...
If you are beautiful with the scars of life...
Only one answer from my heart of love
"You are the most beautiful one,
Who I respect and care about ..."

Don't try to wash it away...
Let me care for it,
With my heart and mind-
Tomorrow you will be free of scars…

It’s my Wish and always will be;
To see you happy and smile always.
"I live in you and you in me"
What more can I say...
"Life is so beautiful…"

Your words make me want to scream,
So blissfully ignorant of the truth,
That lives and breeds before your very eyes,
Does the child that hungers for a crumb of love,
Think life is beautiful?

Does the woman cringing in the dark,
The young boy poised to take his own life,
Think life is beautiful?

I am so dark tonight,
The blackness drips from my pages,
Soiled ink which spills and leaves
Broken patterns on the floor,
You speak to me of love,
And I feel sick
And torn,
Ripped asunder by lies,
You perceive as great truths,
You talk to me of beauty,
Yet you live in a desert,
Where is the beauty you see?
In dreams?
What is your reality?
A fantasy you wish upon me!

Run while you can,
For my anger and bitterness,
Shall melt your heart like acid,
And pool at your feet,
Like the black tar of the road
I drive on!

Where were you so long ago?
When I still believed in truth,
And love?
Why come now,
When I weep at the words you speak,
And dare not believe a single syllable?

My rage consumes me,
And anguish guides my hand tonight,
Would you know my heart if I showed it to you?
Performing such rude surgery?
Could you hold it close,
And kiss with those ruby lips,
The very thing you crave?

You want it?
Take it.
I have no need of hearts,
Or love
Or hope.

I am swallowed whole by darkness,
And wrap its warm and comforting arms
Around me,
This is the kiss I believe in!
This place I call home,
Where you fear to knock on the door!

You cannot entreat me,
Your whispers do not make me shiver,
I fear not you!

Don’t you understand?
Its not you I fear!

It is life itself which drives me mad,
The very life you claim to be so filled with beauty,
That makes me want to retch,
And choke until it sees only
My own death!

Life is not beautiful,
Life is a hard and cruel mistress,
Demanding such payment,
And its reward is death!

The WORLD is beautiful dear one,
The PEOPLE which lives such brief lives,
The NIGHT which hides dreams and reality,
The very PLANTS which we eat so greedily,

All these are Beautiful,
But not life…
Not life.

So deep Reatta, and very understandable, this dark feeling drapes more people than you think. It's not life thats so good, it's an up and down fiasco constantly. It's the individual mind that peeps from behind the brain that decides which roads to travel. It's ashamed to be in a world of dark inside and out. I can't control the outside world but the inside world I have more control over, so I live there. it's attitude that rules for me. My attitude tells me to brighten this world and my world up. this is what I try to do personally. l&p. G

I would like to take a moment and congratulate both of you Outstanding Poet’s on your collaboration to pen this powerful timeless piece of work. You have covered one of the most dynamic issues human beings continue to seek the answers too, yet, somehow just as life changes each and everyday, so does the answers. One can only hope that today will be better than yesterday, and tomorrow shall shine brighter than today. One can only prepare for the worse, and hope for the best, or just chuck it all! Me, I want to stick around and see the end of the movie! I hope the best for you and everyone else, for if not, we all are in deep doo-doo!!! Keep The Faith.

This litttle book/ poem of yours tells many stories. It is good because it expresses feelings from the soul. Pain, sadness, good, and bad, up and downs, but I also see some light in it. There is always light to everything. We just have to reach inside ourselves to make it shine. Hope your light shines brighter as each day passes.
Blessings,
Judith
