On a night of the full moon,

I stood on the shore,

And watched as the waves crested,

With fire in their midst…

And somehow,

I thought I would know the way,

To put what I’d seen into words…

But,

That crisp, cold night,

The hunter’s moon reflecting off

Those breaking waves,

That crashed like broken glass…

Scattering the image,

Reflecting those fiery orbs in the sky-

Haunting me with their beauty.

And lost me with the truth,

I saw in those broken pieces

Lying on the shore…
