I could see the Meadow
From my window,
Tall yellow mustard plants,
Swaying to Dawn's bursting glow,
A wave moving in a sea of yellow,
I watch you move,
Through the rough green grass,
Peering at you through the frost covered glass...
Stepped back when you looked up at me,
For you were something only I could see-
The Morning King come to rise me,
From my bed,
Bringing me a crown of Golden Orchids,
To cover my head.
I open the window,
And let in the chill,
You rise up to greet me,
As men will...
Lay your cold lips upon my cheek,
Reaching for my hands in silent greeting,
I step upon the window sill,
Staring into eyes that smile still,
And go with you into that day...
Let all the world waste away-
It doesn't matter how real you seem,
I shall follow you back into that dream...
And if i never wake again,
Be happy to live in this blissful sin,
As long as we are one,
My golden King of the Morning Sun.
Five years have passed. The sequel to the award-winning Chapel of Eternal Love, this book revisits the same couples in the first book, and where the lives have taken them since they left the altar at The Chapel of Eternal Love
