Fragmented...
Torn between too many worlds,
Humans look to me for love,
How do I tell them,
Not to trust me…
That I am as hollow as a vine,
Without a thing inside-

Fragmented,
Shredded into pieces
That are released in the breeze,
Drifting here and there,
Without out someone to care…

I realize now,
So many things left unsaid,
So many I loved,
Now lie dead…
I try to pretend your love is real,
That once again I can feel,
The touch of your hand upon my lips,
The kiss of your soul against my ribs…

But now I see,
Have learned to believe-
It is only when I deceive myself,
That I want to die-
Cannot focus,
So uncentered,
It is then,
I can look no one in the eye…

They want to see me whole,
Pretend not to know
I am fragmented-

Not one,
But too many,
Something to all,
But nothing to me…
There is nothing I can do,
But warn you…
When the cold burns me,
Through and through,
Sift the ashes for my soul,
It will not be alone…

Retta, excellent writting. Love this verse especially.
