There's A Storm Coming...

The storm’s a coming,
And it is bringing with it
Such a cache of rude emotions
Rage, pain, and heart-ache,
The likes of which
Few have ever seen…

My heart is beating
To the tune of its tempest beat,
And the winds are making
Such a howling in my soul,
I find myself running out the door…
Am cast amidst the swirling of leaves,
The bowing of the trees,
The rain lashing me like a whip
The pain of which bleeds
Through my soul,
And out again,
Taking with it
All that I once held dear…

The storm’s a coming…
And the need to bleed
Is strong within me,
The rain shall wash me clean,
Though it will not forgive my sins…
There is not enough blood in me,
To bleed them away
And let me be free
Of that tainted blood
That dwells so deep within…

I shall raise me up to the stone,
And searching in the sky,
Find the blazing sword I seek,
And sink it deep
Within my heart,
And flay my soul alive
With the pain I seek,
And die,
Amid the wild storm,
In this black night,
End my fight with the past,
Find peace at last…
As I lay bleeding
On that heartless stone,
I find myself as I have always been,
Alone…

Very powerful write. Please though, spare the sword. Bleeding is not the only way to cure the pain.

That's a sad one - finding yourself lost alone after the storm is gone.
But that's life, right??
Good write.
