Dark Dreams suffice,
To keep my heart in ice,
Letting me stay alive,
As I pretend to be your wife…

Yet they steal my soul,
There are so many things you wish to know,
Then know this!
My heart weeps blood,
My soul as dark as that black mud,
That seeps from between my broken heart!
Tearing us apart…

Summer’s blazing heat burns through my soul,
Thoughtless winds crack winter’s brittle bones,
I lay watching thick red blood,
Seep from a mother’s broken ribs…

I cannot say how long I’ve been here,
The pain of that loss begins to sear,
Charring my heart black and hard,
Leaving me so scarred!

Maybe they should have eased my pain,
Perhaps they thought I was insane,
And could not feel a thing,
Could not see this child you bring,
To lay at my side,
Here in the dark where I hide…

They should have numbed my mind!
Why were they so unkind?
To let me lie here as one dead,
Holding a child that will never be fed-

Forsaken by those who say they loved me,
Left in the darkness where they cannot see,
This lovely child that will not stir again.
I will never let them in,
Never show them what it was I lost,
Or what it cost me,
To lay her down in that tiny bed,
Place a kiss upon her tiny head,
Just wish so much it was I,
And not her that lay dead…

Reindeer,

There are no words that I could possibly say that would be adequate... It took COURAGE for you to post this. Know that your pain is shared by those who care about you, and I'll pray that you are blessed with healing.

I extend my embrace to you,
Tami

the pains of our children we would gladly take on to our self, we burn with desire to free them yet we can't.. the love you felt for this little one will never fade ... the pain I know will ever remain.. my only prayer is that it becomes softer to bear as time passes

I've never lost a child, but I realize as a Mother the agony that one would go through if they did.
I can feel the beads of pain as they find their way to the page. I've no doubt it took a long long time to post this, or even to come to a place where you could even write it. You are brave and loving, and it shows even through the bitter coldness of reality that you've had to endure. She is in good hands, awaiting your arrival. Lisa

My dear Retta, did it help to write this? I read it twice and remain in a daze to try to give something back to you.. how utterly deep is your pain.. how utterly impossible it is to adequately tell you how I feel for your loss. Your words are achingly honest.. mine, so seemingly empty. I do care. love, katy xox.
