They sparkle like the dew
They glisten while I listen
With ears tuned in to you
I hear your voice so tender
Your words that fill the air
Your thoughts that comfort and caress
And soothe me of my cares.
There's not a hint of meanness
In all that you command
And nothing touches my eager soul
Like the gentleness of your hand
Whence comes these joyous moments
That lift and never smother
I sense vibrations mystic
Much different from all others.
You've reached an elevation
A teacher without trying
Disarming yet empowering
The happy and the crying
You walk with grace and purpose
You see beyond the moment
Content to live and let live
In peace not in atonement.
I can see in every step you take
In every mile completed
An endless joy that overflows
So plentiful undepleted
Though tired not one complaint
Ever crosses your smiling lips
And even when you're weary
You're ready for other trips.
The golden doors to heaven
Await all who seek to enter
The angels sing and celebrate
The saint and the dissenter
Your arrival is sure to awaken
Every soul that abides up there
