This is a love poem for all who ever had this elusive blending
of hearts and souls in their grasp only to watch it slip away with no way to stop it. [image: pinterest]
Beyond the Rainbow
There was a time not long ago
When your eyes sparkled with love
I saw it in a flash
And I was smitten
Caught in your after glow;
I could not get you out of my thoughts
Out of my desires
You were a part of me
As I knew it could be
As I hoped it would be.
I professed my love for you
Again and again because I wanted to
I could not let our moment pass
Without baring my soul
And you responded in kind;
I so treasured your words
“And I love you too”—
My heart and my soul all that I am
Soared to new heights
At last I had found my one and only love.
Something to live for
Many wonderful things to do
Not with just someone to love
But with the only one I ever felt so complete to be with.
Together.
Oh but time can be fickle
And passions subside;
We dare not lose this moment
We cannot let it pass
For if we do it may not come our way again
Until we meet out there
Somewhere in another time and place
Somewhere
Beyond the rainbow.
I wonder how many have lost love because they didn't recognize it staring them in the face? With this poem it proves some do recognize it and want to grab hold and make the most of it.
Beautiful thoughts. Coincidence? The day you posted, I was playing Harold Arlen with my favorite piano player and we finished with "Over the Rainbow"!

This is so beautiful and describes the way it should be when a special union like you described has taken place. Sure, "time can be fickle" but if we retain our base beliefs, it will last. 'Enjoyed!

Age takes its toll,
but true love will stay.
Love ya!
