The view is different here
Not at all what I had expected
I suddenly like a few people
That never appealed to me—
Funny…

I see the excitement of life
In my grand kids’ eyes
And I am overwhelmed
With emotion—
Such beauty…

I just solved an old
Festering problem and
Now I find it was not
Meant for me rather
For others
And I am OK with that—
Karma at work…

Technology has
Spread its wings and
Soared past me, still
Here on the slow train
Is where I get to
Listen to my music—
And I like it…

I understand my needs
Better now
Simple leads the way
The moving finger writes
But what’s past defines
Only those who live there—
Not me…

Finally I realize
That love is an emotion
Not to be fooled with
By fools like me
It is the perfect gift
To be cherished—
By those who have
Earned it.
