It's her birthday today
but she received the call
it's been two years now
and it seems like yesterday
that night the sky opened
the Angels came to the rescue
I witnessed the spirit stay
and the body leave
right after I kissed her goodbye
and said it was okay
she took her last breath
and left us behind
and to say that I miss her
would not even suffice
see grief is a spiritual guide
along this path of life
so time should be spent
but not in passing as most do
no, time well made for keeps
far before it's too late
and indeed as the years go by
I know in my heart I know I do
she'll always be by my side
but even til this day
it is so incredibly hard
to believe the harsh truth
after all, she's gone away
and today...
