That man left us, leaving destruction in his wake,
no more ready to be a father than all the other deadbeats.
He loved himself more than anything else,
oblivious to the burning pain he left.
The burning pain, he set our world aflame,
why did he leave, what did he hope to gain?
And much to our societies chagrin,
his father left no example for him .
Like an endless chain of broken events,
his father walked out leaving him defenseless.
A parade of males fiercely protective of their cowardly ways,
with the gall to defend the decision they made.
An endless stream of fatherless boys,
raised by the women left with no choice.
Fatherless boys beyond their mothers comprehension,
fatherless boys thirsty for knowledge and attention.
Boys who set out on a course with no light,
like a sailor on a starless, moonless night.
But somehow are expected to navigate this place,
stand up and be men, look fear in the face.
And when we least expect it to happen again,
that boy has a child, then leaves, let the madness begin....
