This is my fictional perspective of spiritual war inside myself.

Poem Artwork

The Lord says to me
"Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet".

I feel a cushion while walking
today after speaking the word
of truth to those who lack strength.

The time has come to battle
with my troops in the war zone
of life, prepare for a fight.

Truth is a great sword, sharper
than tongue communicated in deceitful
dialect disarming the demons of love.

When the devil realized he cannot
have my soul he went after my flesh
and blood, too bad my bones do not break.

Accepting downfall out of desire
to be liked prevents growth I am
not willing to partake.

Games designed to hurt, confuse
and humiliate are only fire to take
a stand against inhumane justice.

Words will never hurt me but
they do protect the very value
of character at fault.

So listen up Lucifer,
this old gal is not finished yet,
my plan has just begun to begin.

Be communication wise, hell renter,
you are elementary to me when messing
with my soul, vacate my property.

You can take away my cushion, cut off my feet,
the one thing you cannot do correctly is
remove a bond centuries old between myself and God.

I am sharpening my tools right now as we speak,
to rid you of your feet roaming the earth,
first chance I get to conquer you face to face.

Beside Still Waters by Jill Eisnaugle

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
