Embracing empty shadows

Pretending they are you

Dreaming vivid dreams

But my dreams don’t come true

 

Embracing empty shadows

Wanting the warmth of you

Touching the velvet of your skin

Knowing one plus one equals two

 

Embracing empty shadows

While the world spins around

Spending my life in a lonely place

Where only empty shadows abound

 

Embracing empty shadows

Singing sad songs to the wind

Wondering if my hushed solitude

And embracing empty shadows will ever end
