This is just a little song that I have written about an extremely unfair and unpleasent man and a beautiful and loving woman.
It is written to quite an uptempo beat which unfortunately I cannot post here.
It does read quite well as a poem though.
I do hope you like it.
She's as pretty as a picture,
she's as funny as a clown,
she's as loving as a mother with her child,
she loves me without question,
and she never puts me down,
behind closed doors, well she drives this poor boy wild.
And I don't know if God sent her,
or the Devil's playing games,
because he knows I'm not the kind to settle down,
I have everything that I
could ever want at home,
but I can't help myself but play around,
(Chorus)
I think the Devil holds the pink slip on my soul,
he has me all tied up and won't let go,
I wish I'd met my Angel before I signed the deal,
but now the Devil holds the pink slip on my soul.
(Instrumental)
She picks me up each evening
when I'm thrown out of the bar,
and never once a disapproving glance,
she tends my cuts and bruises,
however small they are,
though she knows I'll go again, given the chance,
And she knows that I'll cheat on her,
with a woman twice her age,
twice her size and half as beautiful,
and she knows that I'll cuss at her
when I go into a rage,
over something oh so trivial.
(Chorus)
Because the Devil holds the pink slip on my soul,
I'm all tied up and he won't let me go,
I wish I'd met my Angel before I signed the deal,
but now the Devil holds the pink slip on my soul.
(Instrumental)
I know one day I'll lose her,
one day she's gonna' leave,
and in truth I wouldn't blame her if she does,
because all she ever got from me
is a lifetime of deciet,
while all she ever gave to me was love,
And I've never seen more love displayed
in any womans face,
than the love she shows each time I break her heart,
and I tell myself that this time
I am going to change my ways,
but I've never figured out yet where to start.
(Chorus)
Because the Devil holds the pink slip on my soul,
i'm all tied up and he won't let me go,
I wish I'd met my Angel before I signed the deal,
but now the Devil holds the pink slip on my soul.
Because the Devil holds the pink slip on my soul,
i'm all tied up and he won't let me go,
I wish I'd met my Angel before I signed the deal,
but now the Devil holds the pink slip on my soul.
