How it will be

by Elisabeth Barstowe — Read all 441 poems by Elisabeth Barstowe

Sometimes my mind wander
takes off to horizons yonder
Where you and I are as one
all the questions of how gone

In the scenes where I see
these images of you and me
Your body soft, hard and warm
as you guide me through the storm
But maybe you want a firm touch
as in fire together we rock
When instead
I imagine you to hold the key
to open up that door within me
the one that holds all the fire
where I will be your puppet on a wire

Afterwards we'll be one and the same
to make desicions together again
until the next time you say 'when'
and
we'll slip into the calm inside the storm
where the fire will keep us warm

This is what my dream tells me
not necessarily how it will be
still
I'm dying to find out
what it's all about

Dreams, especially day-dreams have a way of leading us in the right direction. Love your ending here.
