Laced with Scars

by Elisabeth Barstowe — Read all 441 poems by Elisabeth Barstowe

Dance on broken glass
know this feeling will pass
Step out into the open
amazed, relieved not broken

Adversity, hardship hold no threat
together we will qonquer and let
light shine upon each fragile day
as we are one, we never stray

How did I ever live without you?
Stronger together we are glued
Forged in flaming fire like stars
beautifully laced with scars

An honest exploration of love and its positive and negative tendencies. So tenuous, this often fickle principle of living. Nicely done.

Yes, you captured the idea that love is built not just on the good times but living through the hard times as well. Well done Elizabeth
