The Presense

Poem Artwork

A Mystery to strong to deny
Can't shake it no matter how hard I try
It will always be close to me at night
when in dreams I take my flight
Last night I woke up from a dream
to a presense, a whirl of colors it seemed
Reaching out for me to take hold of my brain
to make the dreams of you remain
It frightened me so I had to turn on the light
still the presense shone at me bright
I recognized curiousity in its swirling dance
as I studied it under a spell as in trance
It was almost as if it was there because I asked it to be
but then it drew away and soon it was nowhere to see
I pleaded for it to come back so I could figure out
what on earth it was doing and what its all about
I've been thinking about it since then
I know all it has to do is say when
I'll be right there and I will never again fear
it's bright burning colors reaching out for me
it's too much of a mystery to deny you see

Hi Lady-Liz ! I just can't stand it anymore. I've decided to put you out of your constant state of delirium over some guy who is plaguing you for so long. It's getting worse: you can't figure out whether your self-analyses are studies in a "spell" or in a "trance". In this poem, you have only mentioned him once - that's simply amazing, and therefore a very serious condition. I have therefore decided to put on my Freudo-Reichian cap, and the answer I get - Hey Presto ! - is that you are suffering from a "lack" of this guy, that is, instead of letting him get hold of your "brain",
you should direct the "whirl of colours" (must be that blind-bat fella I diagnosed in my last comment on your "YOU-filled" poems) to you know where... since as you say later he is rolled in "bright colours" later, maybe it's YOU. who needs to get your glasses checked for "specs" which don't permit distinguishing between "a whirl of colours" and "bright burning colours"??? The only solution (this analysis is costing you a pretty penny already) is to go get the GUY and see whether he's worth dreaming about!!! If he proves to be all throat and no juice, don't worry, you can always fall back on a certain Randy Ronnie who has quarts and quarts to spare for anyone
in want of di-mystifying of dreams!!! Don't pay me yet; the Income Tax sharks right now are casting their icicle nets. Best Liz-Lady. Sleep tight. TW

Dreams can be like that. They can present a mystery that is intriguing, not sure whether it is dangerous or not. If you can turn it back on the next time you go back to sleep, you might find out. Or, like often happens with me, the dream is circular, going round and round would never reaching a conclusion.

I read somewhere once that only women dream in color. That may be true for me, but I see people upon half awake in full-color clothes.

Actually, something trying to take away one's brain is quite scary.

Ron
