My Credo

by Elisabeth Barstowe — Read all 441 poems by Elisabeth Barstowe

Master of my fantasy, ruler of my heart
take this effegie, feel and see, rip it apart
It was never me that held the creatory key
to this thing, this beast you see
It was painted for anothers' glory
I was never truly part of the story
A story that I write every day to shed
so that it will not end up in my lovers bed
Or in my familys ears to reac havoc
to make them hear a tale of a savage

My loving heart is true and real,
I share it every day to unseal
a wicked symphony playing on repeat
Out of the mouths of those unable to feel
love and joy that is true and real

A love greater than life itself
for to long placed on a shelf
I will not stand by anymore
while envy paint me a whore

I love with all my being
it is true love you're seeing

My body a vessel for heart, soul and mind
my lifes' credo is to always be kind
I never want to hurt another
wish we could all love eachother
Like sister and brother
born of another mother

I fall in love with heart, soul and mind
the package deal of someone kind
I cannot be attracted to people who hurt others
to reject them is within my powers
I cannot heal the minds of those who kill
trust me, that if I can I surely will

When I have found a soul that match mine
they will always be in the center of my mind
That love will always stay true
for them all and for you
With equal measure
and no pressure

Understand who I am

What a lovely credo to have. I second that emotion. If only everyone was as free, what a wonderful world it would be.
