Ethereal Lakes of Clarity

Poem Artwork

The mind knows what the soul don't want to see
it's better to divide, topple over, this dream of me
I can be, truly be, without soul and heart, without chart
I can gaze into the window of my brain, to pry apart
I can also lose myself in reason, in total treason
of me, my being, my yearning, of lifes' seasons

Is it better to be drenched in the gray matter
the bureaucracy within, to mix and scatter
the lifeblood, the core of beauty and joy
to become a soldier, a jailor, to sow
discord and trample the flower within,
where conformitys captivity begin

The butterfly once soaring free
wings drenched with reasons' fee
unable to fly with winds of change
Toll of logic heavy from frail wings hang
Take me away from this prison I made
this gray jailor that is lurking in the shade

Free me from heavy thoughts of reality
Ride in on waves of rebellions audacity
Grab me by the brain stem, transform me
Bathe me in the ethereal lakes of clarity
Purify my soul from my treacherous mind
help me leave all my heavy fears behind

Transform me by eternal lucidity
give me back my wings to 'ever fly
Once again to soar in the open sky
into light, into the suns flame
where my inner song remain
untouched, unquenched and true
burning still for me and you

Double that Wow! Yes, this poem has it all. The battle between good and evil that goes on inside one's brain (not the old heart pump) and you have covered the gamut of what kinds of emotions that come from our own internal conflicts, determining whether we are sane or not. Poetry is one way to relieve the tension and you have very honestly shared it with us.

Thank you.

A fascinating, intriguing poem with a lot going on, stimulating the mind, there's that old bug-a-boo mind again.

A note: some curious grammatical errors that should be fixed.
