Poem Artwork

As my heart begin to change
They slowly wither away
feelings I wanted to stay

A slow, aching dance into tomorrow
sweet regrets, aching sorrow

To what never made itself known
to what never let itself be shown

Into the sunrise I go
and you will never know

The sweet taste of my lips
taking them in small sips

Into the sunrise I go
and you will never know

The electricity that awake
with every move I make

If I see you down this winding road
rest assured I carry a lighter load

Now that I don't feel this constant yearning
that sensual, but all consuming burning

That flame in the torch I carried for you
It has incinerated away it's through

Metaphorically, the change you describe was certainly "burning" your bridges behind you using all those scorching words to describe it. In the end you are truly, cleansed by fire.

Sometimes we just have to walk away, lick our wounds and hope for the future...
