HAT LADIES
I saw a red Rose
Tulip and Daisy
They were wearing huge hats
That looked crazy
But their smiles assured me
They didn’t care
What people said
About what they wear
Their laughter filled the
Air with fun
They shined so bright
Just like the sun
Purple ribbons
And scarves they wore
They pranced and danced
Across the floor
I tried to count them all
There were so many
The excitement in the air
There was plenty
These ladies were
So lovely to see
I can tell these ladies
Are all so free

I immediately thought of those churches where ladies dress up for church in elaborate hats. Certainly lighting up their day once a week as they show off their finery for all to see.
