IN THE CAVES OF El SACRA MONTE

Ahh, I  got a real lift today--
                                        bananas at seven cents
                                        less a pound, with coupons,
even less . Terrific, eh? And look
up there, the sun's just fine now,
and the weather's  all clear.  I'll be
                                        getting home just fine alright,
thank you.  Won't even need the
cane   And can ya believe it,
I  finally found a perfect angle
                                         for watching tv without that
                                        blasted arthritis raging up my
                                        spine.  Things, yeah, are going
good, you bet.   Even spotted a
new bird fluttering around my old
feeder yesterday.  And can ya believe it,
                                         I can read the newspapers
again with my new glasses and
got up only three times last
night to pee.  Imagine that.  And
hey, you watch, my daughter's not
going to forget to send me a birthday
card this year again, not again. I feel it in my bones .  Yes,
just look up tgain, come on, the sun's truly fine
out there  -- and with the breezes
blowing all fair through the yard
today, sure, I'm counting my blessings.
But oh --ohh  Good God!  Didn't I once
dance with the Gypsies all night
                                        long to ancient, wailing laments
ravaging my soul under la luna
llana in the caves of El Sacra Monte?

                              ....................................................................................

This is interesting-great ending-I sometimes feel this way though not because of age, but because of how my health has deteriorated over the past few years from fibromyalgia. Though an internal world and the natural world can give an unequaled beauty and riches, there is still always a part of us that wants to still "dance with the gypsies," or, in my own case, be one :) Excellent work.

Interesting tale, remembering when and being grateful with an uplifting spirit....

Be always safe,
Karen
