                                                Deserts Of  History

                                           Having no dreams

                                           beyond gland and belly,

                                           no tortured moments of love

                                           beyond all consuming Self

is to gasp in an ocean of air.

or drown in the sear and

                                           blinding deserts of history.

                             ...........................................................................

Interesting images to remind us of how fleeting our human history is, right alongside the wind that transports other infinitesimal debris of evolution's perpetual vortex toward the inevitable quintessential black hole.

What a gem this is, Bennett! A tiny, fully-faceted cabochon, polished to perfection. Look close. and you see that a kernel of wisdom is embedded.

Dreams and love impart eternity to the soul. If life is only perceived on the nihilistic level, then indeed, we shall perish in oceans of air and deserts of history. Well said.
