                                                   Walking

                                         Always a last resort

                                         are feet carrying

                                         me through the

                                         festering city dusk.

                                         For only heels,

                                         arching across

                                         indifferent streets,

                                         rob despair of

                                         that staggering

                                         breath whispering

                                         of the grave.

                     ...................................................................

 Reviews of "Walking"

There is something surreal, yet commonplace about the simplicity of walking as a source of both meditation and stubborn resolve to not let either extremity (mind or feet) atrophy. Simple and to the point. Well done.

Dark and compelling, the theme that you express within your verses is one with which I am very familiar, Bennett. Thank you. Love and peace to you,

Regis

Future: The Spiritual Story of Humanity by Glenn Martin

Histories of the world are generally written to either celebrate technology and science, or to herald doom. My book examines the path of the spirit in the onward rush.

This combined narrative dialogue and play is about the uncreated, unborn and undying transcendent Self of God-consciousness and Buddha-nature. It describes an odyssey of transcendent Consciousness Awakening and Remembrance.
