Down in the valley where nobody goes,
And mists swirl all around.
A big fat lady touched her toes,
And fell down on the ground.
Where pure white horses roam all day,
With monkeys on their backs.
Limp wristed apes announce they’re gay,
Wear ruffled shirts and slacks.
A dwarf devoured a huge hot dog,
While dancing in Swan Lake.
A bride fell off a giant log,
Head first into her cake.
The groom he tried to pull her out,
While hanging from the trees.
But found that she was far too stout,
And buried to her knees.
The guests all grabbed her where they could,
And pulled ‘til they were hot.
Then seeing where the cake had stood,
They found she’d ate the lot.
They all had tantrums on the floor,
Because they got no cake.
The groom he gathered up his whore,
And tossed her in the lake.
She swam and swam and threshed and splashed,
Until her skin turned pale.
Until eventually she bashed,
Into a passing whale.
The whale passed out and sank like stone,
To bottom of the lake.
The bride was rescued by a gnome,
Whilst on a swimming break.
The pair they commandeered a boat,
And sailed off hand in hand.
They made sweet love and sped afloat,
Into the Promised Land.
They found the land and built a house,
Pledged love unto the rafter.
Had three strange kids and one pet mouse,
Lived happy ever after.
My first time reading your work. Ok, well,
1st I thought this guy is crazy!
2nd I thought ----- great poetic form!
3rd I thought ---- fun read.
Then I thought, have I had days like this, yes, many.
...read your poem with delight...lines filter the "real" through the "nonsensical" and the "nonsensical" through the "real"...the true art is in the way you've balanced those two.
Thank you Ken, for making my morning...priming my mind for fanciful week-end.

by the beach of Swan Lake,
I think I'll go dancing,
and bake a cake.
