I woke up with these images tumbling through my mind. It was a dizzying experience.

Poem Artwork

Army of Gog

Behold the army of Gog assembling, beneath his boots, ground a-trembling;
proudly marching, power flaunting, yet in the shadows the Word a-haunting.
Elbow to elbow, row by row, their weapons aloft, both sword and bow,
through the streets, across the sand, the swelling ranks cover the land.
They fill the valleys and cover the hills, swarming wherever arrogance wills,
power and might ne'er before seen, in a smoking, grinding war machine.

Trucks and tanks grind mountains to sand, locusts that blacken and rape the land,
smoke hanging low in a choking pall as if cloud of doom hung over them all;
hide your children, sequester your young, before drunken warriors divide them among
row upon row of insatiable need, as spoils to be plundered for unending greed.
Death lends a pallor to all who flee, fear provides urgency, the need to be free.
Cry for your heritage crumbled and lost, cry for the waste, the unbelievable cost.

Inconceivable numbers, ubiquitous cloud, into the mountains the army did crowd
belching fire and steel, enforcing Gog's will, ignoring the warning in unholy still;
skies darkened and turbulent, tinged with green, dark spirits hover twixt and between.
howls like a banshee, stand hair upon end, as spirits attack again and again,
striking out with their swords in unholy fear, the soldiers kill anything venturing near.
Melee and mayhem, blood curdling screams, all seeming just terrible, terrible dreams.

Brother to brother, friend to friend, they strike out in terror, unable to fend
blow after blow, cutting quick to the core, rank after rank fall score after score;
legion after legion strike out in hubris, dying and crying in smoking debris.
Then, as if in remorse for this mistake, the land shakes itself in a shuddering quake;
burning boulders crash heavily down, sulfurous fumes smolder heavy and brown,
rain mixed with fire in treacherous hail, grumbling earth-gods in anger assail.

From chaotic sky o'er chaotic world, javelins of lightning come as if hurled,
cloud to cloud, and sky to ground comes bolt after bolt with deafening sound;
blast after blast, no way to defend, brings the army of Gog to unseemly end.
Prophecy passed down, for our posterity, prophecy revealed in frightening clarity;
prophecy ignored through passing ages, prophecy fulfilled as nature rages.
this lesson, to us, may seem pretty rough, it's simply God saying, "Enough is enough."

Awesome and fearful is the Day of the Lord--you have captured it perfectly. I don't know your religious persuasion, but I felt I needed to share something that happened a few months ago. My nephew, who has a chromosomal abnormality, is mentally and physically disabled. However, at 24 he goes to work every day at Civitan. My sister-in-law was driving him to work and he said, "I hear a rumble." She questioned him further, and he said, "I hear a rumble, Jesus is coming, I'm so happy."

Then, in August I was selling my book at a craft fair and a minister stopped by and I told him of my nephew's comments. He said, "Let me tell you what that means. In the orthodox Jewish community the bridegroom would ask for his prospective wife's hand, and then return to his father's house for 12 months to ready his own house for his wife. Then, when he was finished his father would send him out and he would gather his groomsmen, and with a loud rumble would march toward the bride's house and then with a shout announce his presence." If there is a rumble that means Jesus is on the way to claim His bride.

Hope nothing I've said offends, but you clearly have an understanding of the Bible and prophecy and just felt I needed to share.

I agree that enough is enough. Iraq, Afghanistan, communist China, Cuba, and anywhere else people's rights are flagrantly violated. Enough is definitely enough. The images is this poem is a dizzying experience, but if the world keeps on going the way it is, scenes like these will come true. There is a very prophetic message here Dallas. Thank you for sharing.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and who love you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your den sister, Barbie.

The picture and the poem resound with the fury of war, Dallas. The end proclaims the vindication of a just God who says, "Enough is enough." Electrifying.

Spine chilling write. The cadence reminds me of a marching throng. Wise and bold. Love it, J'nia

this message is thunderous and is cleverly crafted to be as dense as the smoke and sulphur burning our nostrils. Recorded like a true vision, what you have "witnessed" your recount with testimonial conviction. Great writing, Dallas! :)) xx

I echo Karen's and Karla's sentiments! If you haven't seen war and its outcomes first hand, then you must be a perceptive soul indeed to pen it with such power. Perhaps an unseen hand was guiding your thoughts. A write of no small consequence...

Respect,

Lin
