this is a personal examination of my own heart (not an indictment of the rich or the famous or America or anything else) after a startling account that took place while I was in the USMC. see Rides on waves..."My Angel experience" in the stories section.

why does he still reach down to a people,

who are so filled with pride?

 so full of ourselves,

we can not see the tide.

we build our "Great Mansions" along his shores.

oblivious of the tsunami that shall one day pour.

 by covering our eyes

we can only "then" see the shame

of our puny, little lives in Jesus name.

 Just maybe,

when everything that we have-

is turned back to dust.

when our cars  and our ships

are all turned to rust.

maybe then our eyes will be open,

and we shall finally all see

How precious to God was humanity.

Your thoughts here are sobering. Self-examination leads to change. My Father knows how much I need to change, but He is so merciful and patient with me. He alone is worthy!!!
