A well expressed poetic piece. Memory is fading for all of us who are over 50, 60 and so forth. M mother is over 90 and she forgets where she went to eat and who she just played cards with. I just hope and pray she will always recall her family. So far she is doing pretty well. My advice to help the memory is to eat a lot of blueberries and get a lot of sleep.
Perhaps you are getting inside of someone with dementia. I find myself having a very hard time remembering names these days. I expect before long, I may not remember faces or even who in the hell is, "inside my head."
Reminds me of not being able to remember how I know someone. I rack my brain for days, then the slow computer in my brain gives me the answer when it's good and ready.
