Reflections of a Life Well Spent
The waters of the pond are quiet now, and
and my reflection is clear.
It was not always so,
nor will it always be.
Storms leave muddy waters.
I reach down, dragging my fingers
through the stillness, and see
the woman I was, and
the woman I have become.
The differences are clear.
Believe it.
I see the answers are still fewer
than the questions, the reality
grimmer than the fantasy.
I see reflections of loss,
I see what each choice cost.
I see what time has done, and I know,
somehow I just know, these
are reflections
of a life well spent.
