Another poem of introspection
Walking with a purpose I walk the path backwards hoping to run into that younger version of me, wanting to explore her face, free of wrinkles, her eyes still bright with the knowledge that she has many more tomorrows. I come to the crossroad, that place where choices must be made, and can no longer remember which way I turned to end up here. Would I have done it differently anyway? I trip over my good intentions and find myself face down in a puddle of indecision. I linger like a swine who is finally home, but then remember this is not my home, I am better than this. I lift my face to the sky and am gratified that a light, cleansing rain washes me fresh and then I am off, off again, walking the road straight, straight to who I will be tomorrow. Will she listen if I tell her what lies ahead? Would you?

A fascinating journey in self-examination. I like the fresh determination as your walk resumes. What lies ahead? Life is full of surprises, so expect many changes to come. Remember the lines from the old song, "Put your hand in the hand of the One who stilled the water........" He will help you walk on that straight path.

I love this, Carol! Well said. I often ponder decisions of the past that would have been life-changing had I made them differently. If I could go back, would I? The decisions I've made have made me the person that I am, and I'm happy with who I am.
