euro leather - dark brown portts
his head is raised

her seafoam lined encasement
houses Karino's ornate kitchen
their castle, rusty beams, hues

he pitches - she ebbs

the butcher comes early
with his presidential pardon
left bleeding on their leaning stoop

a parchment note
of being - his thanks, a
handknitten aran sweater

her blood spot, over a
well healed muscled spine
he kisses her darning finger

true friends cheer
glasses raise over hearts
as the warmed vodka spills

saying it is Thanksgiving once again.
