“…Shines all around us, by day and by night, Jesus, The Light of the World…” Pressing-on.

Light of the World, we look to You and rejoice to find…You are perpetually lit. You are indispensable, never faltering… not even a little bit. Your illumination not only directs our travels to ordained streets But also provides warmth when…chills of trouble… we meet. Many yesterdays ago, we were quite content… to follow nocturnal fireflies Which flew down paths, hither and thither leading us to…pass You by. But now…we have detoured from such roads… now, Dear God…we know… There is no direction, indeed, we are totally lost… without …Your glow. Early humans revered the sun because it was their source of warmth and life. Certain individuals, who plotted the course of the sun, like the druids and many other cultures around the planet, used it to predict and gain power among their fellows. They became the priests and prophets that kings and queens used to have power over the people.

There is strong evidence, especially from Egypt, where the Jews and the Egyptians identify the sun with God. Thereby making God, the bringer of light. Actually just the sun raised to the level of religion.
