Reaching…and Pressing-on!

We gaze…You, oh Marvelous God… You, who bolster within hardship’s sod For nothing occurs that You do not allow all things intended to raise ‘endurance brow’ Sprinkled liberally on our difficult labor is the reward of acquired…patient behavior As tolerance tumbles from heaven’s gates, ajar we learn to trust Thee…Our Faultless Czar Permitted, not to dash but to…embellish hope our troubles guide eyes to an elevated scope Not a moment of a…trial…is wasted not even a single tear is lambasted Thus, instances of wrench… which fluster peaceful sense Becomes a significant teaching tool… when, we gaze...You ROMANS 8:28, JHN 16:33, 2NDTIM 3:12 ©jmsbell-3/5/2026

Hey, lovely lady, Ron has raised the very question the poem is answering.
Perhaps faith isn’t about expecting God to make life easy, but trusting Him through what isn’t. Trials may break us, or they may build endurance, patience and hope. As the poem says, not even a single tear is wasted.

For me, Christ doesn’t promise an easy road. He promises to walk it with us.

If God is so powerful, and you believe so much in him, why doesn't he just make your life easier. Why does he put you through such troubles?

Your words lift the heart into that higher place where struggle becomes instruction and endurance becomes grace. The way you frame hardship as something God permits not to break us but to refine our sight feels oh so true. Each line turns the reader gently toward trust—toward that quiet certainty that no tear is wasted and no trial is without purpose. This poem looks upward, reminding us that hope expands whenever we look to Him. A beautiful, enriching poem.
