You finally got around to my conclusion. That is that our natural survival force used to find a mate, whether that be a single encounter or a lifetime commitment tends to be one that is strong and can survive to give a healthy child that can also survive. The French have a good saying for it: "Viva la difference."
Contrived social and cultural mores that try to "purify" racial differences only came about originally because of environmentally induced survival in isolated locations. Even in prehistory, tribes knew that they had to mate with others of other tribes or their tribe would become very weak genetically and die out from inbreeding. Those who preach racial superiority like Hitler, are doomed.
When I had an African-American with a white grandfather as a girlfriend in the late 1980s, some elderly members of my family were shocked. Others have honored me for my, "courage." I find that all very unnecessary. Your final concluding paragraph is the right one:
"In this whole matter of human association or open assimilation the law: "likes repel and unlikes attract," will do more to shape the future course of history than the frequently quoted axiom "birds of the same feather flock together." The more we magnify or bewail dissimilarities to people the greater will be the attraction for the person who is more different from oneself."
We have black cats and mixed breeds. We have brown tabby cats and milky white Persians. Who care what color they are? Human being are just [plain stupid! You are what you are because of your character! Amen!
